Only thing that could be - maybe that poster is thinking of height over bore for carbine/rifle?

But this discussion isn't about carbine/rifle, & that poster didn't mention height over bore. He wrote bullet drop.

Which is pretty nonsensical...
Agreed. But like you said the OP is discussing a MRDS on a Glock 43X. 3 inches of drop at 7 yards as a generalized statement is beyond me.

I run a really high mount on my SBR and have to take the height over bore into account but I can't say the same for a handgun.

Appreciate all the replies and info, sorry for any confusion. Holosun 407k x2 on a Glock 43x, there was a plate mounted under optic but unsure of exact thickness. Large torso target at 7yds and was trying to zero the dot at that distance. Ran out of elevation on dial and as close to poa/poi I could get was almost exactly 4" low when I measured (held the dot on the 7 and rounds hit on the 8)

Your elevation shouldn't be bottomed out. I'd take everything apart and make sure it's all clean, straight, etc.

Personally I hate using plates. So if it was my gun I'd file the studs off so I could direct mount the optic. But many don't like to permanently modify their guns. Understandably. Either that or buy a NON mos slide and have it milled for the optic specifically.

Posting pictures of your set up could help as well. Someone here may spot something or have suggestions on things try.
