Today I set up my steel target for a buddy and I to shoot, and made sure it was at a good angle. I forgot to make sure it was far enough away to shoot with an AR though (I only brought a handgun), so when he took his first shot, a bit of copper jacket came back and kissed me on the neck.

Good reminder to keep wearing eye protection, and to stay at a safe distance from steel targets when using a rifle. I had a first aid kit in the car, but we were out of cell service and a decent drive from the nearest hospital.

I once took a ricochet on my upper arm from a lead bullet off of a steel target and I was in the proper location during a CAS shooting match.

I believe it was from a .38 Special out of a rifle. It 'smacked' me pretty good but no injury.

Has happened tome several times. Once was in one of the bays at ARPC telling a friend about fragments coming over the block wall. Sure enough, a piece cut me in the inner arm a few seconds later. Not sure if it was karma or God helping me out with a training aid to help make my point.

Same thing here, but it drew blood...I have a pretty good scar from it

I got hit with a golf ball once. Impatient people behind us.

Felt like a girly man threw it from 20 yards away so I didn't make an issue of it.

Does that count:confused::rolleyes:

I once shot a stainless beer keg in the woods with my Beretta 96.
The metal bent inward then reversed outward flinging the bullet back at me and hitting my nuts.
Then the bullet dropped to the ground, literally smoking hot and fully mushroomed out, directly between my feet.
That was a religious experience. True story.

Your nuts dropped to the ground fully mushroomed out? Yikes.

My Dad fired his .36 Navy replica at an old truck tire (still had air), and the round ball was perfectly returned to the center of his chest, where it then landed in his lap, and "Hurt like hell!" :)

He handed me the ball, and I packed it around showing buddies in the 5th grade, and I imagine Mom shook her head in disgust when her dryer started sounding like the percussion section of the Philharmonic.

At Broadmoor GC on Columbia i watched a guy hit a driver off the tee and shanked it to the left and hit a guy in the trap next (other hole) to us. Hit him right in the back of the thigh with a wet sounding SLAP! OW!
