I'm still not where I wanna be. But I do think I'm improving! As to what I had mentioned in another person's thread about their first day of concealed carry, there was one time where the magazine did not seat. Or whatever the technical term is for that. And obviously, I'm at the range, so there were bullets in it this time. And the one other thing that happened was, I was in the middle of shooting a magazine, and on one of those trigger pulls, nothing happened. I forgot about the slap method. So I just ejected that round , and then aligned my sights and shot the rest of the magazine just fine. I did look at the bullet and it didn't look like one of those light fire strikes. So I shot a couple out of the other magazine and put that bullet in and apparently it shot just fine then. But overall, super happy with my range time today! I'm really having so much fun! And learning so much! 🔫😃

Nice shooting.
But I gotta ask....
Just what did that poor piece of paper do to you...? :D

Another bit of nice is...
Figuring out what to do when you want to go boom...but your pistol doesn't.
Clearing a malfunction / jam / etc...is an important skill to have.
Better to practice now...then trying something out , when you really need to shoot.

It came in the Amazon envelope all folded! I had to straighten it out. 😂 But yes, that is an important skill, like highly important that I want to lock down super soon. Owning firearms is incredibly fun and practical for so many reasons. But one of those main reasons is protection. And it would truly be a shame to have a malfunction in that split second between life and death and not know how to fix it.

If you shoot with someone else then you can have them load your magazine with a random snap cap. That allows an unexpected failure for you to practice with.

It also allows you to notice if you are pulling downward as you shot, which is a common issue that we should all train for.

Just for your growing wealth of knowledge. The technical term is, "mag seatis interruptus" or "MSI". Often confused with Multi-Sensory Impairment which can be a contributing factor. 😁

Nice shootin!!👍

Or if you're my age you just load one in the day before you hit the range. You'll forget it's in there and couldn't tell which round it'll be if your life depended on it.

(Sometimes I don't load any just to keep me on my toes, wondering and not anticipate) :D

Thank you so much. 😊 And that's actually really great advice. I would absolutely forget. Which makes good practice. 😂 It's on my list of items to get hopefully in the near future!

I do hope to do that in the near future. Have only shot by myself so far. But I could load one in to one of my magazines and surprise myself. 😂

I was kind to myself and did 10, 15 and 20 feet. 🤣
Perfect. No reason to make it harder on yourself trying to hit a distant target.

I recently took my revolver out to practice my double action shooting. I set my target up at 10 yards, I also shot at a moving target, a rolling freon cylinder, at about the same distance. I had fun and felt pretty good about my shooting.

I use these to setup "surprise" malfunctions and dry fire drills…

The Clint Smith malfunction drill video Titzonritz shared is the absolute best bookmark to learn from, worth bookmarking.

A package of dummy rounds is essential to train for malfunctions, also good for just cycling the tap rack bang drill safely at home. If target practicing solo if you have at least 2 magazines you can load one of them with a dummy round somewhere then jumble them together and you wont know which magazine will have the jam.

Dummy rounds and a shot timer are probably the two most important training aides. I use my 12ga. dummy rounds the most, practicing loading my shotguns efficiently…
