OK these people want to implement Measure 114 or pass a bill that end runs 114 and puts the same crap in place (though from what I can tell more expensive).

SO how does this logic work. I currently have more then 1 and less then 50 fully functional firearms in my legal possession. I can carry a number of them concealed I can carry most any of them openly. I can hunt, I can target practice, I can kick a pop can around an open field, I can shoot a person breaking into my house in the middle of the night.

EXACTLY what purpose in the real world of Disney would requiring me to jump through all these hoops and pay this money to buy one more firearm? I can assure you should crime and mayhem be my intention I would not require another firearm to carry anything out.

I know that the reason for these laws has nothing to do with reducing crime or safety. But how on earth does this even screw with me? I have firearms. Sure I might want a couple more but is all this effort worth me not having that Replica Winchester model 1886 rifle I would like?

It just seams from a logical point of view so amazingly stupid.

There are some people who don't have firearms yet….

I know we all like to be at the center of the world but there are more people out there who are going to get screwed by this other than you.

Do you want an actual answer of what they think they're accomplishing or do you just want to scream into the screen?

1. They don't care about you or me. They care about the young people coming of age soon. The fewer pro2A kids, the better for them. The fewer kids with access to legal guns and legal avenues of self defense and common use stuff, the better for them (politicians)

2. Sure you have good stuff but they did throw in those mag restrictions along with no grandfather clause...

3. They won't stop here.

They already have a whole bunch more to go in this session, and they're looking at Colorado's semiautomatic ban for the next subject which will be... "Oregonians can get ""illegal"" mags from Idaho and other States,,so we need to clamp down and ban guns that uses these mags"

Total disarmament to control everyone. And if anyone thinks thats a conspiracy theory then please provide an answer to the OP.

I suspect many non-owners believe that the only reason to buy a gun is that you want one but don't have one. If you already own one, they believe this law shouldn't affect you.

Look to the North. (WA), then to the SE, one time zone away (Colorado).

Then to the immediate South (CA). We're getting there by hook or by crooked politicians:s0054:
People cant even move into Wa with them, that they own legally elsewhere. If the Wa is allowed to stand, they will make the grandfathered ones illegal to pass down.
The neon sign is light bright and many people still do not see it coming.

It's just a classic taxation, data collection (registries) and disarmament routine.

Make it expensive, find out what everyone has, prevent future sales/transfers, then confiscate.

It may be a 20-70 year end goal.. but that's what it results in every single time. Plenty of historically documented regimes used similar methods (give or take a few small differences and overall and duration).. but this is what it ends in.

Try 100+ years, 91 from NFA 1934.

Its why oregon pro 2a people tend to be weak as they are used to the bs. By the time I was 18 private transfers were banned so lots were used to that. Next generation will get used to mag ban or permits now. Think about how much more weak/moderate Oregon gun people (in general) are compaired to a state like Texas or Indiana? It stops younger people from getting used to it. Kinda like the milsurp market i have a disinterest in usgi orginal colt 1911s due to the price as I was not there when they were cheap and the price now I'll buy something instead.

Yep. as a former californian. This is all about killing the culture. I didnt even think firearm ownership was something worth dealing with when I lived in California. When I bought my first firearm in Oregon, before all this BS, my eyes opened wide about how all this works.

It creates a barrier to entry for non gun owners who are interested in buying their first gun. Lots of us own guns now, but fast forward 20 years and the numbers will likely be different because of the barrier to entry created by M114. Same reason a lot of AWBs have grandfather clauses, but do not allow for inheritance of so-called "assault weapons". Give it 20, 40, 60 years and they'll be out of civilian hands as current owners die out.

I won't say many Europeans are ready to admit they want guns for personal security now, but they are thinking about it. They have to relearn lessons their ancestors learned the hard way.

We just trick our countrymen into believing that they are the government's number one priority. The same government that changes every 2-4 years that half the country hates. If this were a fabel little kids wouldn't believe it.
