Greetings....I picked this up this weekend and have no idea what it is (other than a shotgun). Never heard of the brand, but sure is reminiscent of a Browning. Looks to be pretty old, and I did cycle a few shells through it without any issues. Any help with this is appreciated.

Stevens 520, looks like it was the one the Aussies and Brits used in the Pacific Theater of WWII. Could be a replica, judging by the hump.

My pops has a couple of these on the side burner to convert into a trench gun. I'd be helping him if I ever had the time.
Pretty fun and better than the exposed bolt on the Winchester 1898's.
Guess the Brits used Auto5's, according to my sources, and the only official issue to US troops was the 520A and 520-30, with a flat top.

1897's ;)

It's successor is my favorite. Give me a Model 12 trench gun with a M1917 bayonet and I'll be happy.
Ya know the thought crossed my mind when I wrote that, guess I should have went with the hunch. LoL
The model 12 is another fine pump gun!
I've always wanted an Ithaca 37 as well.

My dad had one of these shotguns in 12 ga with the factory polychoke. It was a Western Field from Montgomery Wards from around 1940. It was a very reliable shotgun.

I just replaced the follower and I think she's ready to dance.....slam fire and all! Probably a fake trench gun, no? no US or other markings besides SN..

That is a stevens 520, but its not original. Only 520a where fitted with a bayonet. They are cool kid shoot guns, I've owned and saved many of them over the years. If you need some pointer, I'll gladly help

Yes they slam fire and 1-3/4" shells feed very well

The are cheap! Like $9 when a Winchester was $20. Aka very low quality and made with soft steel. If not properly maintained (lube) they will ware out. Hence me having to save so many. I do love them but they have area to look out for
