Thanks Andy. It is a 7mm. I think it is Chilean, but nothing but a serial number stamped on the receiver. There is a star of David which I think came from the manufacturer Leopold LoeweLooks like a sporterized 1895 Mauser...Spanish / South American I would guess....
Is there a crest on the receiver...?
What is the caliber...usually they are 7x57mm Mauser or at times some were converted to .308 / 7.62 NATO.

Ludwig Loewe- that's right. I think I misspoke myself likewise in an earlier thread. Ain't it great, getting old?The Chilean Mauser crest does have a star...not a star of David However...
I know of Lugwig Loewe , haven't heard of Leopold Loewe.
