Has or is anyone signing up? Whats your plan if so and if not?..

The 1% of my AGR is far greater than the monthly extortion.. Sorry "tax" Id have to pay.. Im now between a rock and a hard place.. Seeing who might have a better understanding of all of this..

Also, keeping it related to firearms..
Anyone planning on buying one of those new AK trigger kits seen at shot show this year?

The economy is tanking because of forced taxes on healthcare so buy your gun parts with this in mind.:D You have until Feb 15 to buy or you will pay a greater tax next year. If you are young and healthy then you may want to take a chance and not buy healthcare but realize if something happens you will pay the hospital bill. Unless of course you are an illegal or have a really low income. Better check how much the tax is for next year to see which will hurt worse.

unfortunately the message with insurance is they all suck. Though there are ones that suck more.

Avoid any of the medicaid plans if you can. CareOregon actively tries to kill my patients (literally, I'm serious here) and regular Medicaid is so overwhelmed you will only barely get emergency care. Medicaid now has a 2 month wait to get approval for a CT scan for example.

Most of the specialists are dumping Medicaid plans (cant blame them, hard to survive when you are getting paid 20% of you bill). So seeing certain specialists will take up to a year.

Out of the private insurances, Blue Cross is one of the worst right now. Very focused on making as much money as possible and they do it by making it as difficult as possible for patients to get what they need. Getting tests done like CT's will require fighting with a 3rd party company that has also told me that they would rather see my patient die than pay for a test.

Providence uses the same prior approval company, but they are a little better overall.

Not much in the way of problems with Moda. They are not on my crap list yet. You might try them.

Kaiser is its own beast. Going to be the least expensive usually but you are going to see a doctor that has to see twice as many people that I do in a day. I dont know how they expect you to "thrive" if your doctor can only spend 5 minutes with you. All of my wife's family uses Kaiser and I usually hear from them how much they suck on a regular basis.

Good luck. It all sucks right now (it all sucked before obamacare too, just a different kind of suck now)

If you want good healthcare, move to Canada!

No matter who you are a hospital can not refuse you service in the emergency room. From there on its who is going to pay. I have read that medicare has a reclamation act that allows what you have used in medicare benefits to be taken from your estate when you die. With healthcare the way it is expect to leave nothing to your heirs.

Odds are the government is going to let the system crash and then go to single payer with your healthcare payments coming directly out of your check. That is for the few that still have jobs by then. Buy your guns and enjoy them. Live life for today.

"move to Canada!"
Where at least they don't even pretend to give a crap and get your hopes up before they pretend to treat you.

I think that Government bureaucrats like to call it "health care", because if you're in need of "sick care" they aren't really interested.

Once it gets to single payer and a direct tax out of your check our health care will be the same as the veterans get, long lines and no care.

Once they control your healthcare they control you:
Want a gun? It's not healthy.
Want some bacon? Enjoy your tofu.
Third child without a permit? You already know the answer.
Old and need a heart valve or other expensive treatment? Enjoy your euthanasia.

Just opinion but by the looks of the system they will continue to use it to rape the baby boomers then when they are gone it will change to single payer. Single payer now with all the Boomers turning old and needing healthcare doesn't pay. Better to rip off the old folkes first then tax everyone else.

Whatever you decide. Get the best insurance you can afford. You will sleep better at night.
But make sure you understand every test and procedure they want you to get. There expensive these days.

They wanted about $16,000 for radiation after my cancer surgery. I told them No.

We all die at some time. Think in advance. What are you willing to undergo to live a little longer?
Know your limits. It will all work out as it should in the end.

Just something to consider. I hope you find a good deal.

My wife's cancer was well treated at Kaiser through her first recurrence. They did well by her. She qualifies for Medicare now so is no longer in their system. Can't speak about the hoops their Docs need to jump through...

Group Heath Dr.s are worse than used car salesmen!!!
They will expect you to get the tests, immunizations & treatment they spell out while sitting there typing like crazy and hardly look at you. I just tell them no I'm not doing that or this!!!
Very impersonal care if you ask me.

I miss my small town Dr. who is retiring after his wife died. Things gone the wayside of an era gone....

I just stay well enough to still be able to go to the range and enjoy my life.

Owe at the end of the year, skip the refund. Try to maintain some semblance of freedom.

What Happens If I Don't Pay the Individual Mandate Fee?
The only way for the IRS to collect the fee for not having health insurance, if you choose not to pay it, is for them to withhold the money from the Federal Income Tax Refund you would get back from the IRS after filing your income tax return. The IRS cannot enforce the Individual Shared Responsibility provision with jail time, liens, or any other typical methods of collection.

I love it, the freedom loving self reliant individualists planning to mooch on the hospitals and the tax payers in stead of carrying their load by paying for some insurance.
