Ahh, makes sense.

Look into a way to get one for your bench, but not a permanent mount...
The Inline Fabrication method has worked wonders in my loading/gun room. I made a wood sled to park it when not in use so it didn't scar up the benchtop.

I might be late to the party and is not my favorite idea, but might work for your situation; would a heavy duty (rubber) strap wrench with some kind of protection (like a rag) around the receiver work?

Not in my experience :s0108:

A vise from Harbor Freight or The ReStore screwed to a piece of 2x6 and a action block would work great, when not in use you can just lean the board / vise up in the back corner of your closet.

I helped a friend change a barrel out by taking my ReStore cheep vise to his place and screwing it to a tree stump in his yard. Is this the way to get a Plama Match Rifle? Nope, but very few of us are Palma Match shooters and a cheap vise and a tree stump (or 2x6) work just fine

Bro doesn't know it's a trap. He's actually going on a (Deliverance style) boating trip.

Well I forgot about this thread…
But this ^^^^^^^^ may have been the reason that the OP canceled… Cuz it was raining, said his ole lady don't like to drive in the rain, not a peep after that. Not surprised, I would be if he was buying or selling to me though.
