Lawsuit has been filed!! Individual plaintiffs, OFF and FPC is challenging Oregon's HB2005 regarding untraceable and unserialized firearms. Excellent!!

Filing can be found here

FPC's announcement:

THe MSM is now reporting this, in their very slanted view ( As always/expected) so don't expect fair reporting! Still, it's good to get people talking about it, maybe we can swing a few folks moving forward.

Here it is. Maxine, bless her little heart, writing unbiased news for the masses.
""The idea that the Founders intended 'well-regulated militia' to mean 'unregulated, untraceable, semi-automatic guns" is a delusion," Jennings said."

If they wanted every firearm/musket serialized and accounted for by the gooberment, they most certainly coulda. Sorry, Jennings! The fact that they didn't makes yerself the delusional party to believe otherwise. Serial numbers didn't even become a "thing" until 179 years later under the 1968 GCA.

Good luck getting people to comply lol.

I heard a wonderful story told by sheriff Lamb out of AZ on the Shawn Ryan show (I forgot who wrote the fairy tale/story originally). This lion falls for this female. The female's father is uncomfortable but tolerates the lion because the lion had sharp claws and teeth and the father is concerned that his doughier might get hurt.

The lion tells the father that he will keep the daughter safe with the claws and teeth and the father is still not convinced. One day the lion tells the father that he wants to marry his daughter. The father tells the lion that he doesn't like that idea but he will allow it if the lion gets his teeth and claws removed.

The lion loved the girl so much that he decides to get his teeth and claws removed. Then the lion goes to the father and tells him, see? I removed my claws and teeth.

Once the father confirms what the lion told him, he killed the lion!

NEVER GIVE UP YOUR GUNS!!!!!!!!!

The below letter went out to all the Republican house members that stood outside the capitol building with the $25k pledge to donate to the HB2005 lawsuit. Some say it might be a fake since Kevin isn't known for such polite and restrained writing, especially when it comes to broken promises by politicians. :D

Dear Vikki,

As you no doubt know, we have joined the Firearms Policy Coalition to commence legal action against HB 2005.

HB 2005, you will recall, senseslessly made criminals out of countless law abiding Oregonians, most of whom, no doubt, are Republicans.

Your pledge of $25,000.00, donated by the very generous members of the House Republican Caucus, will be a small but significant contribution to what will certainly be very costly litigation .

We agree that it's unfortunate that we are forced to have expensive legal battles to overturn laws which could have been stopped at no cost in the legislature, but since this is the reality we are dealing with, we greatly look forward to your generous donation.

Please send the check to:
Oregon Firearms Educational Foundation
PO Box 556
Canby OR

Thanks so much.

news reports case assigned to Adrienne Nelson a Biden appointee. Looking at how she ruled on the christian woman who wanted to adopt but stated she was christian and does not support LGHDTV+ , this case will not go well for gun owners.

I liked FPC's approach in the petition. Essentially pre arguing anticipated defense arguments... and they didn't disappoint.

Same old arguments, "other courts have been doing it" (despite Bruen), interest balancing, throwing out wild unsubstantiated statistics, and the, "not in common used for self defense'" so not covered by the 2A shtick. Throw in a few half truths for good measure... like, "serial numbers have been required for 50 years" without bothering to differentiate between commercially manufactured and PMF's (which have never been required to have SN's).

Not that a 50 year history can constitute a valid argument under the historical scrutiny test, anyway.

If the petition fails I have no doubt they'll use the same approach as other recent courts. The whole, "they aren't covered under the 2A" so historical analogs under Bruen aren't required routine.

I'm hearing that the judge didn't ask a single question but have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
If the denial is predetermined I hope they at least publish it in short order and allow time for a hail mary up the food chain prior to the deadline. Not that the odds would tip in favor of freedom, but a snowballs chance in a socialist state is preferable to nothing.

If we were in America there would at least be the lenity doctrine to maintain the status quo during the pendency of the case.. vs... immediately making law abiding, and for many...unsuspecting, citizens criminals overnight.

I have a serialized 1848 Colt. They were a thing. They werent mandatory but almost all US and most foreign manufacturers used them at least by the 1920's.

Now tell me how Im wrong.
