Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! My we all have something to be thankful for.
Can't wait for the prime rib dinner at the kids today. Apparently my son in law doesn't care for the turkey tradition and i ain't complainin!
I love a good whiskey.
The Rare Bird is my favorite bourbon. I love the finish of 101 and these cask proof Turks. (I do not like whiskeys that have what I describe as a corn meal finish)I love a good whiskey.
However Wild Turkey seemed too "sweet" for my taste....How does this Rye taste...?
Andy
Thank you for that....will search out a bottle to try.The Rare Bird is my favorite bourbon. I love the finish of 101 and these cask proof Turks. (I do not like whiskeys that have what I describe as a corn meal finish)
This rye I really like. At $60 a bottle it's not cheap, but it will not be the last bottle I buy. I've become a real fan of cask proof whiskeys. I don't put water or ice in my whiskeys and appreciate it when the distiller doesn't, either. If you were semi close, Andy, I would come up and we could sample. I might need a couch to crash on, though.![]()
I could retire now, but am going to keep working until about the time my wife retires. At that time we are seriously considering relocating to the John Day area. Still Orygun, but away from the Willamette Valley and Portland.Happy Thanksgiving folks, have lots to be thankful for in this life (PNW life). Will probably be our last one here unless we visit family.
That was funny, so is this one.Happy Thanksgiving!
Mine will be great, but this dad wins Thanksgiving this year

Thanks @orygun gun.I could retire now, but am going to keep working until about the time my wife retires. At that time we are seriously considering relocating to the John Day area. Still Orygun, but away from the Willamette Valley and Portland.
Good luck to you, @Caveman Jim
I'm sorry to hear that Jim. I told Jane about you moving and she asked "What about the tornado's/hurricane's?" I'll guess that you'll figure out catching warm water fish pretty good. Not as special eating, but plenty good fun. OR & WA seem to be doing their best to eliminate consumption fisheries for anadromous fish for us anyway. Thanks @orygun gun.
I've been medically retired for 20 years already just couldn't talk myself (wife) into leaving till my body said GTHOOWa. The cold and wet is debilitating for my arthritis anymore so now I need to go somewhere warm, home to Fl.
