The source would have to be vetted in the long run would any credence be given it.Isn't ham radio like the internet? Lots going on, but is it a reliable source of information? Verification of facts limited, just like the internet? Could be used for evil purposes as well as good?
For me, a totally uninformed ham person, I could visualize getting a portable receiver just for info, like in real SHTF, finding of a place to barter perhaps.. that place would have to be vetted first-hand by trusted sources otherwise it'd just be considered a highly suspect murder beacon/come here bait.
