Does the more financial wealth/money and more authority/power equate to the less intelligence/common sense someone has?

I'm not sure how those things equate to lack of intelligence or common sense.

It does seem the wealthy and powerful can easily lose sight of the hardships faced by those not as wealthy or intelligent.

I've met smart poor guys and dumb as a rock rich guys.
