Years ago there was a bit in the local about someone who saw Racoon for sale in some small market here. The woman called the Health Department thinking this was not legal. Turned out there is farm raised Raccoon just for this. There was a pic of them in the market, frozen whole animal. It was some ethnic group that likes them. I have to "guess" the farm raised "may" get a better diet than many of the wild. I still would probably have to be at the point of starvation to eat some but again it would be in how you grew up.Two stories come to mind.
1. Lady in Poulsbo, Wash. became concerned when her house was surrounded by over 100 raccoons. She called the sheriff because she couldn't get into her house. She'd been feeding the raccoons for 35 years, what's the problem?
2. Man in Germany discovered one solution to their raccoon problem. Raccoon sausage and meatballs. Very popular.
