Back by popular demand, ARPC will be holding another rifle and Garand class Friday evening, March 17 at 6pm. The class is for shooters that are interested in rifle matches or want to use the club M1 Garand rifles in the match held the following day. This class is a great way to learn how to run a M1 Garand. More info below. Contact for the clinic and match is on the ARPC calendar, ARPC March Calendar

"ARPC Rifle Clinic and Matches

The second ARPC rifle match scheduled this year will be held Saturday March 18. Starting at 8am we will have an early bird Garand/Vintage/Military 35 round military rifle of course. Following at 9am, we will have the 88 round 100 yard reduced course high power rifle match. Shooters can shoot either one or both. The rifle matches typically conclude around 12:30 pm.

For new participants, a free clinic will be held Friday March 17th at 6 pm – 7:30 pm. The clinic will cover safety, course of fire, range commands, basic positions and operation of the M1 Garand rifle. New participants may use a club M1 Garand rifle if they have attended the clinic and rifle cleaning party after the match. Contact the match director to sign up for the clinic.

These rifle matches are a good way to learn the basics or improve your skills of rifle shooting. The matches are un-competitive and you will score your own target. All you need for a rifle is one that can be loaded with a stripper clip, enbloc clip or detachable magazine and two clips or magazines. Rim fire shooters or those that would only like to shoot from a bench are welcome. Following the high power match we will have awards and recognize the shooters in each of the rifle divisions.

The match fee to cover target costs is $2 for the CMP match and $10 for the High power match. 30-06 ammo is available for use at the CMP match for $20 and the High Power match for $50.

If you are new to our rifle match or want to attend the clinic, please contact the match director."
