I like this guy because he seems to do a good job testing the products he reviews. This vid caught my eye because it was mostly about rust prevention coatings.
The CRC spray caught my ear when he mentioned that it is basically cosmoline. Executive summary - the CRC spray did the best of the products tested.
So I googled it and found a better less expensive (per ounce) cosmoline spray:
Yes cosmoline can be a PITA to remove, that is one of its benefits - that is isn't easily worn off. It can be removed with various solvents, most people use mineral spirits or gasoline.
I am going to get some. I have a few guns that I want to coat and store long term.
