There are lots of "felons" who have their firearms rights though. It all depends on the state and the crime.

Not all felons are equal. You can be a felon because you didn't pay your taxes or you can be a felon because you raped a 12 year old. Roughly 10% of the US population has a felony conviction, something like one in ten of those is for a violent crime. Most non violent felons can get their rights back
