It has been interesting hearing the buzz during the beginning of the DNC convention about how we should vote for Joe because Trump is mean, loud and has no empathy. While these traits may or may not be things that bother me, I have to compare them to actual policy and philosophical positions of Biden/Harris and the democrats in general:

- higher taxes
- anti- 2A
- diminishing personal rights contrasted with increased role of government
- liberal judges and SCOTUS picks
- support of anarchy and chaos
- lack of support for pre-born rights
- support of santuary cities and immigrants over citizens
- excessive spending without benchmarks for proof of success
- social justice as a means to tearing down society in order to reengineer it
- environmental positions
- etc

This choice also reminds me of discussions during the election period ahead of Bill Clinton's second term. The synopsis was that we should just vote for Bill because he was likeable and things surely counldn't get any worse by re-electing him. Instead, after electing Bill as a nation we got the Lewinski affair, Impeachment and a debasing of national social norms.

I would hope that as a nation we don't have to learn the hard way again.
Just grabbed your first point abd looked it up - renegotiating NAFTA - here is what i found :

Doesnt sound like a win to me

One of the big disappointments of the 1968 GCA for the gun grabbers was it didn't establish a national registry of guns. That was proposed, got bargained away. We might see that come up again these many years later. Or worse.

Because......when Adolph came into power....
Well, he used the German Govt's lists, to confiscate guns from the undesirables, untrust worthy, and his political enemies.

Back then......some people in America remembered their History. Unfortunately.......many don't today. :(

Has done:
- renegotiated NAFTA
- pull the US out of agreements that had no benefit to the country
- record low unemployment not seen since the 1960's
- smoking, strong economy before it was crippled by the China flu
- deregulation, allowing business to do business
- bringing jobs back to america
- GNP numbers we were told this country could never achieve again
- nearly 500 miles of border wall
- conservative justices appointed across all the federal courts, especially the SCOTUS

And on and on and on and on....

Love him or hate him, if you can fog a mirror and can understand truth and fact, can't deny what he's really done.

YEP! Sadly I have been watching this for over 50 years that I have paid attention to it. One side has always pushed for what we are seeing. They are never happy. ALL "compromise" only goes one way, we lose. So I watch gun owners vote for it with a list of excuses why. Now that things are finally where I have long warned, as many I know openly told me I needed a foil hat, many of them now are trying to buy a gun. Still a LOT of gun owners have not had enough, they want more. In OR they elected Kate, twice. Hope they enjoy what they got, they did ask for it. In WA gun owners elected Jay and many are hell bent to make sure he wins again. Great, hope they enjoy what they asked for too. Of course most of them when they get what they vote for blame EVERYONE else. :s0054:

To be fair, only a bit more than half of the population voted for this, and that half dominates in places that are currently enjoying their progressive paradise.
EVERYONE who is of voting age makes a choice every election. If they chose to not vote, that is them casting a vote for the winner. If they throw their vote away they voted for the winner. All these excuses are why we have this mess. The people with excuses blame everyone else. So again hope they are enjoying what they asked for. When we tried to get rid of I1639 in WA several people put up a lot of money and time. We could not get enough gun owners to bother to sign the petition. These same gun owners who could not be bothered to sign are the same ones who say we are outnumbered. So their answer is do nothing and complain. :s0054:

Not my post, not my NAFTA monkey... I think it was Nammac in post #38.

However, didn't Time magazine once refer to the Brookings Institute as the "nation's pre-eminent liberal think tank"? If so, they may have a slightly vested interest in skewing opinions about getting rid of NAFTA,

Yup, they did.
And folks might find this interesting:

"Starting with the 1990 election cycle, employees of the Brookings Institution gave $853,017 to Democratic candidates and $26,104 to Republican candidates. In total, since 1990, 96 percent of its political donations have gone to Democrats."

From: Brookings Institutution political stance

Naaaah, I don't see any political bias there...

I'll tell you one thing President Trump and some Republicans have done and that's acknowledge the extreme, far left violence/terrorism we have been seeing for the past 80+ straight nights (did you all see the dude get his head kicked off in portland the other night:().

The burning, looting, and beating has become so routine that it is commonplace.

Meanwhile we have governors, mayors, representatives, etc. Supporting it, ignoring it, or claiming it doesn't exist:s0117: .

This alone is reason enough to vote out the extreme left and reelect Trump. We must send the message that this terrorism will not be tolerated in the USA.

When people are afraid to wear a t shirt/hat, put a sticker on their car or a sign in their yard for fear of assualt or vandalism, yes, that is terrorism. And it's not acceptable, regardless of political leanings.

Oh, and while all this is going on, the same politicians want to restrict the law abiding citizens right to self defense.

A couple armed almost-victims and everyone will notice. If you look at the Love attack you can see how these thugs circle around and make sure the victim is unable to fight back before they dive in, thus avoiding catastrophic drops in BP.

A vote for Biden is a vote to bring this extremism to your city, your town, your county, your state and all of America...

We can all be like Chicago!!!&

At the end of the day, what % of folks on this site will give up there guns?
Zero.
So it's a argument that doesn't matter in my opinion. We will shoot first.

Along with hundreds of shootings every weekend, dozens dead, chaos in the streets, yup get the whole thing, lock, stock and barrel...

And we'll keep asking for more, gun control... You know for the children...
Wait a second. When we were talking pizza it sounded pretty good but now I'm not certain. Can I get back to you on this deal?
