As to the bolded: This thread isn't about me. I certainly have concerns about anyone being illegally detained and disarmed. However, having read some very credible stuff from a very credible person about CJ Grisham ... let's just say that my alarms were going off. Grisham is not what many think he is. I probably won't change any minds but at least read the link provided.

Michael Yon is a former Special Forces soldier and was imbedded with many units in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has literally been in the line of fire in both theaters with noting more than camera. Initially, when Grisham started hounding him he was stateside and Yon was in Iraq. Additionally, Yon hasn't said anything that I've read that would remotely be construed as having an anti-2A position. He is able to get access to folks in the know and not jeopordize operational security.

If you can read this entry to his blog and still feel that Grisham is a totally up front guy with no credibility issues and no axes to grind and wasn't doing anything to invite scrutiny and totally normal behavior then there is nothing that is going to change your mind. Heck, I don't even care if you don't change your mind but I hope you can read this post and at least have second thoughts about Grisham and the potential that he isn't telling the whole truth.

By the way, if you haven't read Michael Yon's blog I highly recommend it. As a former Special Forces soldier he has walked his talk. His writing is excellent as is his own photography. He has given some vivid, can't stop reading accounts of our soldiers in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was one of the first folks to say that getting entangled in Iraq was going to come back to haunt us in A-stan. When he was in Iraq he was one of the first folks to say the surge was working despite posting many harrowing stories from place like Baquba, Mosul, and Sadr City. He doesn't work for anybody ... he is funded by private donations. He has been in personal meetings with Patreus and was invited back to A-stan by Patreus even after being dis-embedded for exposing the warts and scabs of upper echelon decision makers.

Yon's mental and emotional decline has been underway for several years. Any reason to take him seriously has evaporated along with his credibility. Given that we here at BLACKFIVE had a huge impact in launching his career, it has not been something I have enjoyed. He once served as a voice for the troops in a sea of misinformation. He now serves as the voice of malignant narcissism serving only his own vastly over-inflated ego. The only thing that matches his ego for size is his even-more-inflated waistline. He is a magnificent jelly-doughnut-scarfing fatbody. The thing that amazes me is that he can find enough chow to maintain that gargantuan bulk in theater. Maybe he is dipping into Fat Bastard's stash of tasty babies.

A good LE would have stopped.
Asked a few questions ran him for wants or warrants then let him go on his way with respect that he was doing something good with his son.
Then relayed to dispatch to advise any other callers that he had already been checked out.
But real cops seem to be in the minority anymore.

If you want to confuse a cop invoke your 5th amendment right and look at him/her and say absolutely nothing.

Cops/Police/Sheriffs/Poky/Bacon/___________(insert your favorite LEO term here) know their job is easier if they get the person of interest to tell on themselves or in some ways make themselves look foolish. They invite the confrontation to establish their case. Without it they have to do some real police work and establish probable cause.

The less you say the less you give them to string you up by. Just my opinion.

First, for all the people who say that charges are reasonable because people are "alarmed," the audio of the 911 call is available, and at no time does the caller say she is alarmed. She merely says it looked "odd" to her.

The Sergeant in this case had to testify in the first trial that the first officer on scene lied in his report. In the second trial, he was not called to testify, and the fact that the officer lied was not allowed into evidence. As of yet there is no news that he arrested the first police officer for effecting a false arrest for perjury (is an officer's written report entered into evidence any different than sworn testimony?), making me wonder where the "good cops" are in Temple, Texas.

The judge in this case is on record making personal insults about CJ Grisham, indicating that she is biased. I have no doubt that Grisham would not have been found guilty if the judge actually allowed the lies of the police officer into evidence.

Long past are the days when it was respectable to be a cop in America.

Officer Steve Ermis you are a liar. You should be fired and brought up on charges for what you did and for what you put the legal system, Mr.Grisham, his son and their family through. You are one of the reasons I do not trust LE. With people like him in LE, and getting away with what he did, how can LE expect anyone(including the courts) to trust them. I hope he pays for his lies.

Take a look at 1:57 and read what the lying cop said.

It doesnt matter though, Officer Fictitious will not be held accountable. His fellow officers, the police union, the D.A and judge will cover his back.

I wish the good guys in LE and the justice system would stand up and do whats right.
