My guess is he was suffering from heavy untreated PTSD, was having major problems assimilating to his new environment, said F' it and had zero intention of surviving.

Well, at least this way if he survives, he can be interrogated and maybe we will find out if he was paid, and by whom, and who was behind it, and if he had help. And then we can put him to death.

As for the "Why" behind all of this....
Only the shooter might know.

Some things to consider when speculating on the "Why" or thought process of someone :

You can't use logic and reason with people who are being unreasonable....

You also can't expect rational thoughts from people who are escalated...

You are not the person who did this action....any statement from anyone other than the perpetrator...
Is a guess at best...an assumption at worst.

Any statement given by the perpetrator is suspect ...since we have no idea of his mindset or purpose.
Just like with intelligence work...you gotta sift thought all the information gathered...

Why were these specific words chosen...

Why was this information given...

What does the person , who gave you this information have to gain by giving it to you...

What does this person stand to lose by not giving you this information...

Is this information true..if it is or isn't , how do you know / prove that...

Why was this information given to you at this point in time...

Is the information given , believed by the perpetrator to be true or false...

How does the information given , fit in with what is actually known or proven to be true...

How does the information given fit in with your ideas / desire for a specific reason or outcome ..

There are of course many more questions to ask about the "why" and "why" of the information itself
This takes time to unravel.

As a general rule...Most Americans don't want to take that time .
They want a short , easy answer that fits into their own ideas of what happened and why.

It's hard enough to find a staunch 2A individual in a field of people willing to run. The hurdles one needs to get through when the parties routinely eat their own, like Bernie Sanders or Kennedy, for example. I can't call the MTG saga that's currently taking place. It seems one of the very few points both side of American political parties along with the globalist agree on is they don't like the 2A as it is literally presented. Every argument they have is a contradiction of what they allow for themselves.

The reason why neither of the major parties embraces the 2A is because it was intended as a safety valve for the people if they go rogue (okay, rogue-er that they already are ). It doesn't make them feel warm and fuzzy thinking back 250 years.

I don't think there's anything racist about "being aware" of nearby communities more likely than average to commit politically motivated violence (not that we know the DC shooter's motive, as far as I'm aware). Given that far right ideologies are significantly more likely to be responsible for that violence than jihadists, which I assume is your concern with Afghans, you should really be keeping an eye on Lynden to the north of Bellingham.

It's the second largest city in Whatcom County and a notorious hotbed of far right conservatives, home to a once thriving Ku Klux Klan chapter. Scary stuff, right? As a Whatcom County resident I've never once seen a bumper sticker advocating jihad, but I've seen dozens of far right bumper stickers in and around Lynden. Some highlights include "Ashkenazi swine" and "Stop the Transgender Contagion!" You might also be concerned to know that it was largely settled by foreigners (Dutch), people who came to this country and couldn't be bothered to assimilate.

Since your concern has nothing to do with people's skin color and is exclusively about awareness of potentially dangerous communities you must be more concerned about the 17,000+ living in Lynden than the 400+ Afghan refugees, many of whom served alongside our troops.

He was motivated by either money, patriotism or both to work for the US to start with. Someone said he didn't speak English, maybe that meant around them because the first part doesn't make sense if he can't, especially after 4 years. I would like to know if he worked, got a stipend from one of the "agencies" or taxpayer supported. A source said his apartment was $2k/mo plus 5 kids? I don't know why the government locates people in the more expensive areas if they won't be able to enjoy the local lifestyle.

I understand why many people had to get out of Dodge at the fall of the war. I also understand that there is a lot of real estate between Washington and Afghanistan. Some people might have been happier in a country closer to their own ideology.

As to why not resettle in another country closer to his culture/country? Well. Taliban, ISIS/ISIL? With the fact he worked with US personnel, be it CIA, civilian contractors or military personnel, that paints a big target on him from ISIS/ISIL and Taliban, as well as Hezbollah and probably whatever's left of Al Qaeda ..... So he wouldn't be safer outside of Afghanistan in the Islamosphere except maybe Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman, but they don't seem that friendly to other people who aren't already wealthy?

Pakistan might have tolerated him, but they did support Taliban and Al Qaeda too for a long while.

Well, while I feel the perp needs to die, the fact that he is alive means they might get some useful information out of him that may prevent other such occurrences, etc. But, eventually when he is convicted, and he will be, I bet that he will be executed.

And if his wife or any relatives or others int he community knew anything or helped in anyway, I'm they will be imprisoned or sent back to Afghanistan.

Even if the govt finds out the true "why?", we the common people will probably never get the truth. They likely won't tell us.

That's great and all, but how many times have we heard that someone who was "on a watch list" or recently "contacted by authorities" end up committing the crime anyways, and everyone gets mad that the authorities apparently knew?

That's great and all, but how many times have we heard that someone who was "on a watch list" or recently "contacted by authorities" end up committing the crime anyways, and everyone gets mad that the authorities apparently knew?
