Cowlitz River @ east Lewis County

The inlaws just bought some land on the river east of Randle, WA.

Not a big fisherman but Im trying to change that and the kids are dying to go.

What can be found out there, what are we fishing for?
Casting from the bank legit?
What's the scene like up there?

That far up the Cow you will be seeing mainly trout but if they are still trucking salmon and steelhead above Mossyrock then you have a bonus. I personally have not fished that far above the dams, I prefer to fish downstream from the first dams.
