Why?

One reason apparently is that PA does not allow hunting with a semi.

California? Maybe WA state in the future? Orygun?

Competitions where bolt actions are required?

thats kinda neat. this past hunting season was my first season hunting with a suppressor and semi auto rifle. i dunno if i'll go back to bolt action!!

What would happen with an AK if I removed the front part of the piston?

Also, I wonder if the FN-FAL gas regulator could be pinned to the full open position making it effectively not semi-automatic as none of the gas would be fed into the gas system?

What other popular semi-autos would be amenable to such simple mods should initiative 43 pass and go into law?

Yes, I am aware that the change would have to be "permanent" from the perspective of the law.

Just set the gas plug to the grenade launcher setting. To make it permanent, buy a new barrel and weld the hole shut.

My old M2Hb had single shot mode. So why not an AR?
