I still have no idea what you are trying to prove? The movement of indigenous people in north america was genocide plane an simple... it's pretty common knowledge here in 2020 but I'm sure it wasn't in text books in the 70's.

LOL. YOU want to believe that it was Genocide?

If it makes you feel better some dude threw a hot dog at me when I was on the beach on a rez in WA... guess it was supposed to be his beach.

My original question was about today in 2020, not 200 years ago...

Some of the land casinos are on is a no go. Its up to the tribe to make the the rules and the very from tribe to tribe .

I've noticed signage with terse language on carry at the three casinos we've frequented (Seven Feathers, Three Rivers, Spirit Mountain). They vary a little, but are similar.

Interesting....I live on a reservation and I've never given it a thought that
there may be conflicting regulations as to CCP .

I did read the list of regulations in the previous post for Washington and
the Swinomish Reservation and it seems as long as I have a current CCP
I'm good to go.

Interesting. I had a similar experience during my teen years in Alaska. Though he threw razor clams instead of hot dogs.

Years ago, I had a buddy open-carrying in a mall in Arizona that was on tribal land. They confronted him and escorted him out to his vehicle.
AZ was pretty slow to adopt CC. I had the same thing happen at a mall while trying to buy my kids school clothes, albeit NOT on Rez land... Glendale, AZ.

Open carry, stink-eye, a gathering of security "forces", asked to put my gun outside when they figured they had enough dudes to take me down if I got froggy.

It must have been very anti-climactic for them when I laid down about $250 worth (and growing quickly) of merch, gathered up my family, and split. They didn't escort me to my vehicle... just kinda stood there looking stupid and disappointed.

OTOH, l used to stumble out of the desert in full-on saddletramp mode, armed to the gunnels, and stop at a C-store for a chemical-blue Slurpee and nobody ever said a word... par for the course in Yavapai county in those days.

Reading some I can't discern if the initial question has been answered... it depends on the rez you intend to visit. For instance, warm springs mandates a letter of approval from the tribal council and chief as well that you are in no possession of drugs or alcohol. You can read all the particulars on their website.

Tribal lands are the sovereign scraps left over from Westward Ho!

Except for the Warms Springs tribe, to my knowledge, no tribes willingly exiled themselves from their lands.

Seriously - People do not ASK to be born on the Rez.

For the first time, this place is beginning to piss me off!

Keep this thread about answering the question at hand, we're done going down these divisive rabbits holes...thanks in advance.

Theoretically... they can arrest you and confiscate your guns, if they don't want to recognize your non-Indian status and your cCW/LTC/CHL.

There are over 400 official different Indian tribes in all 50 states, all with different reservations and lands they own across the USA. Every one of them has different rules on open/conceal carry and hunting and recognizing permits/licenses. Some will recognize a permit/license from all 50 states. Some have totaly outright banned all firearms outside the home. There are several that want to issue their own permits and charge a non-Indian as much as $500 for a permit. They use it to generate revenue.

however federally speaking they do NOT have any jurisdiction over anyone who is a non-indian. They can attempt to fine you, but they can't hold you in jail or prison for extended lengths of time. If they take your firearms, getting them back maybe close to impossible as well.

Now depending on the state your in, the State can prosecute you for crimes you commit on Tribal lands as a non-Indian, but the tribes can not. Their are exceptions. Domestic abuse, any sexual crimes, and any crimes where there is an existing relationship.
Example of existing relationship. If I as a non-Indian had an Indian girlfriend and I stole from her, or physically abused her. I would be under tribal jurisdiction. If I was employed by an Indian reservation or company (Such as Winstar Casinos in Oklahoma) then their is an existing relationship. So if I stole from Winstar, then I would be under their jurisdiction. However carrying a gun into Winstar Casinos as a Non-Indian would get you arrested by the Oklahoma state police, The Chickasaw nation would not have jurisdiction over you.

The thing is, do you really want to "run" from tribal police, or break any of their laws, do you really want to spend thousands of dollars fighting them in courts?

I don't, so I stay away from all Tribal lands, except public highways which they have no jurisdiction on at all. And I don't give any of my tourist dollars to them anymore.

Trust me... Stay away from Tribal lands After I worked 5 years for an Indian Nations gambling Casino (Winstar Casinos in Oklahoma). As a non Indian your best off just letting them be!

Tribal Nations really tick me off. . .
They claim to be independent nations. . . .
But are always first in line for Federal and State aid.

They are an independent nation when it benefits them, and are part of the USA/State when it benefits them.
How much aid did we give them exactly? I can't seem to find an answer?

I used to work for Chickasaw nation in Oklahoma at Winstar Casinos. They always wanted to act like federal laws never applied to them. Yet they were always very good about collecting my federal and state income tax. They knew as well as I did, that if they failed to do that, the Feds with The IRS would be on them faster then flys on bubblegum!

If they started to build an army, or obtain WMD's, or even NFA items with out registering them with the ATF the feds would be on them very quickly. They (Winstar) tried to ignore OSHA laws, and the feds gave them a huge fine, and even came in and walked away with the fine money in cash from their vault! That was an interesting sight to see!

So yeah the USA is here when It suits them, and not when it doesn't.

Just stay away unless u have no choice!
