I'm new to the CHL (Concealed Handgun License) world, and I've seen things on YouTube and heard people talk about it. Is it worth getting CHL insurance, like USCCA or similar options? If it is worth it, which one would you recommend?

I've come across some discussions where people say negative things about certain providers, so I'd like to find something reliable that will actually help if something serious happens. While I don't expect to ever need it, you never know—it's like the saying, 'It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

It seems expensive to me. The odds of you actually using it is pretty slim if you are aware of your surroundings and don't act a donkey.

I can see both sides of the argument. I don't do anything reckless or go into sketchy places, but I do live in Eugene, OR, so... ehh. I've only felt like I needed something twice in my life, and both times were out in more rural areas. Even then, it would take a lot for me to actually pull it out. But still, if that one time something did happen, I'd want to be prepared.

Choose one of the ones that aren't in a pissing match with each other... You know who I mean. The guys who used to have a gun shop I know used US Law Shield. It's reasonable. Less than the ones fighting each other on Youtube right now.
I personally made the choice to have it, each has their own circumstances.
Mainly, avoid stupid places, stupid people and stupid times (of day, or night really).
Keep your head on a swivel.
De-escalation and humbleness will get you away from the rest usually.

Um...sometimes evil comes right to your house.

And sometimes other people act like donkeys.

This type of insurance isn't just for when you're out and about. It's for any time you are in a self defense situation. This could be when your home gets robbed...with you in it. Or it could be some unstable idiot road rager who decides he wants to settle things on the side of the road and forces you off. LOTS more of that type of crap happening.

But yes, the odds of you needing to draw your gun are small. But the odds of you needing legal help if, God forbid, you do have to draw your gun, are probably a lot closer to 100% than they are to zero. And most people don't have the type of cash that is going to be necessary for a legal defense.

So choose wisely. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

I suggest something like "Attorneys on retainer" as opposed to an "insurance" scheme.

Not everything is as it seems.. peel back the onion on them and you may be surprised at what you can find. Marc is quite convincing and I think he is a straight shooter.... But depends on what you want your money going towards. He has some viewpoints that don't align with mine and thinks not everyone should have any kind of gun they want... I'm a 2a purist in that sense..
Just like I wouldn't promote USCCA either, their spokesman Tim, he thinks gun control is a great option. I can't get behind that and I won't support that kind of ideology. It's harmful and people keep feeding the monster unknowingly.
And I'm just tired of the two companies having a spat on who's better. Just shut up and tell us what you do and give us receipts to back it up. Drop the big act and don't support red flag laws and gun control. It's quite simple. If they have enough time to worry about what each other is doing, they're not busy enough working on advocating for their customer base.

Chl insurance is it worth it?

Yes.

We have ACLDN. Not an insurance, but close enough that its just semantics in the differences.

Everyone's financials, family, profession, estate etc are different. Insurance is to help relieve a case of catastrophic/financial ruination. Home insurance, auto insurance, umbrella, liability, malpractice insurance etc etc. Out of all which we have, CHL "insurance" is the least expensive. By far.

It makes sense for us.

It may not make sense for anyone else.
