This article has more detail: Bail set at $200K for Oswego man accused of stabbing neighbor before being scared off with AR-15

Gun instructor Dave Thomas was getting ready for work Monday afternoon when he heard women screaming, looked out his door and saw blood in the hallway. Without hesitating, he said he grabbed his AR-15 and went to help.

Thomas confronted Currey [the stabber], who ran off when Thomas threatened to shoot him, according to Kendall County sheriff's officials and Thomas.

The neighbor was treated and released from Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, according to the sheriff's office.

A 27-year-old woman who lives in the building said an interaction she had with Currey escalated into him stabbing her husband, and the knife also nicked her leg. The woman, who said she is nine months pregnant, said Currey also threatened to kill her baby.
