1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup. hoi sin sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 dashes white pepper
3 drops red food coloring (not necessary)
1/2 tsp. five-spice powder
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
Combine the sauce ingredients in a sauce pan, heat it up and stir-well until it has mixed through fully. Allow the char siu sauce to cool and set aside.
Marinate the pork pieces with the sauce and the minced garlic and refrigerate overnight.
Cook on a broiling pan at 375 degrees for 15 mins remove and baste with more sauce, repeat this action as much as you like until it reaches an internal temp of 140-145 degrees.
