Can you cut off the barrel of a shotgun?

you should be able to get 7+1 out of a 18.5" no problem.

im not confirming either way, since i havent looked since i gave up 3 years ago, but all of the mag extensions i looked at (not thousends... just 3 or so) said not to use with less than 20" because it would hang past the barrel. could you send me a link to the ones youre speaking of? i would love to still throw one on my 870 express mag

I wouldn't buy this because it's plastic, but here's one. When they say "7 round mag extension" they almost always mean it gives you a total of 7 rounds. In other words it may add only 2 rounds. This is a 7+1 extension, or a total of 7 in the mag and 1 in the chamber if you choose for a total of 8.

Others refer to this as a "2 round extension."

Edit. Here's a parkerized steel one. It's called a 2 round, which is a total of 7 + 1.
