I bought an old collection today. The first one I pick up is this old octagon barrel .22.
It says Remington Arms Co. and gives a the serial #. 126908. No letters. It doesn't fit the post 1921 codes, so does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
It's late so my brain is not fully functioning at 12:30 am. But your treasure appears to be a Remington Number 4 in .22. They were built from around 1890 to 1933 circa. Highly desirable to an old gun nut like me but to others not so much. If some one doesn't answer I'll look up the serial number for date of manufacturer. Nice score!
