Can Ammo be washed before being used in gun after Hoppes # 9 Solvent bottle exploded

I order mainly from Cheaper Than Dirt or from Midway online and both seem to not know how to package items. One sent me two boxes of ammo that rolled around in a large box and destroyed about 5 rounds. The box was much larger than it needed to be. That seems to be a habit, small items, large box. It happens almost every time. In my business we ship fairly often, but not as often as these guys. You would think they could get it right!
Cabelas is under construction in Springfield, Oregon. Go by it every morning on the way to work. I cannot wait!
