I have two experience with Cabela's labeled optics.

A buddy bought a $400 scope on sale for $170ish. For $170 it was a decent buy but at full price we both felt it would have been a rip off. We were disappointed.

I bought a pair of Cabela's binos made by Meopta. They are simply outstanding at full price and I got them for about 40% off.

I think with Cabela's optics, you need to find out who made the item. Some are much better than others. I have heard Vortex is currently making a lot of the Cabela's optics, which can be a good thing. Vortex does have an entry level line I'm not impressed with, but some of their stuff is outstanding.

I bought one of their meopta scopes on close out great glass I should have bought three or four of them, as said before vortex low end is just that low end.
I just bought a Hawke scope for my 10/22 for $159.00 and love it.
