Over the last year I've noticed a weird phenomenon regarding background checks in Oregon.

Since the beginning of the COVID buying craze, I've purchase a total of 16 firearms. 12 were "normal" and 4 were C&R/antique (Swedish M96, two German K98k's, and an M1 Garand).

Without fail, the 12 normal guns were instant approval (No CHL, but I do have a current DoD security clearance) and the 4 C&R all went to the back of the line. I have no problem waiting my turn, I was just curious if there was any rationale behind it. My FFL posited that the older firearms needed extra research, but even he wasn't sure.

Any thoughts?

In Oregon even C&R guns must be transferred through a dealer FFL unless one of the exceptions applies. In Washington a C&R FFL can buy curios or relics direct, at least until HR8 passes.
