Took my ar15 out target shooting cleaned and stored. Picked it up today and herd some noise rattleing around and seen that the buffer had come apart and the weights were all loose in the buffer. There was metal shavings every where! What could have caused this? And if you're in the gresham area and have a 1 piece I'd Glady by it from ya!

Wow
Was that end threaded on ?

Limitless in Washougal or Curt's in Milwaukie should have a milspec buffer.
Yeah it was threaded I couldn't believe it the threads were all stripped in and took off chunks of em lots of powder came out of the buffer tube no wheels or I'd probly go for it!

It was pre installed by a fella that built it. I got the rifle from a member in really good standing. There sadly was no markings. I'm still looking for a buffer locally if anyone has one

I've used several different buffers with success.

Luth-AR, Rainier Arms, Bravo Company, Toms Tactical..

However I have seen some buffer tubes and buffer kits made out of 6061...avoid these.

7075 is both stronger and lighter.
