Will there be any food riots? 🤣 This was uttered by ol' Jim Forman on the news years ago during winter storm coverage in the Seattle area.
I have heard of Kale, banana, and TP shortages already in Portland. However, there seems to be a huge supply of organic mini carrots left. 🤷‍♂️

"Bomb Cyclone" previously known as "winter storm." So annoying. Is there going to be an "atmospheric river" also?
Bomb cyclones are rapidly developing winter hurricanes. I've been in some. It was crazy how the winds go from 20 mph or so to 80+ mph in a matter of a half hour or less in a pretty localized place.

Oh, you mean rain? 🤣
Yes most likely.
Scary, isn't it??

ETA, I don't mean to sound snarky to @Angie …I 💯 % understood the humor and pointed sarcasm in her post. And she's absolutely correct to call out this BS for what it is.

Just heard "Atmospheric River" on KXL waiting for the morning boy's to start.
Wonder if I should get the plug back in the boat? Just in case?

Kinda miss seeing salmon swim across a roadway. Roadkill salmon, yummy! Where's my crackers?
Last I checked we are all wasting our days posting on here

They've been calling for bomb cyclones for a couple of years now, usually 2-3 times a winter. I've yet to see anything other than typical winter weather.

But what do I know? I'm leaving for Arizona this weekend ;) The Bomb Cyclone is coming!

I preferred the term microburst, but definitely not as scary as bomb and cyclone jammed together.

Thought we had one here in July, but it was rarer they said, a derecho. Supposed to be long lasting, but I was out in that one, securing my deck furniture when it hit. It only lasted about 45 minutes, but cat2 hurricane force. I am glad my deck umbrella didn't open when I was laying it down.

The most important thing to remember about these 'storms' is to:

Brew some coffee early for the thermos.

that's all.

Reached out to some family at the coast, if the power goes out and is needed, I'll be driving over to setup generators.

Not expecting much, should be a fun day at work tomorrow, since it's supposed to be fall protection jobs...
