I am a regular at my local Bi mart and have on occasion told some unhappy customers what the gals behind the counter couldnt. Messing with a mans local bimart staff can be dangerous to ones health. Never have been able to stomach Men who bad mouth woman, Especialy in a Inviroment where puting Idiots in there place would cost them there job.
I can feel my Blood pressure rising already.

take care all, Mica

I support the limit. It leaves some on the shelf for the next guy. No limit and one person buys it all and then resells it for more $ at the gun show. This happened four years ago with the last shortage and the stores placed the limit to better serve all of their customers. Last month 9mm was on sale. 4 box (200 rds) limit. I just went back the next day and got 4 more. And no, it is not for sale.

I feel a limit if fine as long as its for the reason of making sure that all customers can get some. And even as i am typing this i feel like socialist lol. People behind the counter are doing their jobs. At a place like Bi-Mart they do not make the policies. they work just like all of use. To support themselves and family. I have had to deal with upset customers in the past when i was a manager in food service. One person is not going to change a policy by throwing a fit. Just going to embarrass yourself and make yourself look like and idiot. I am a little irritated when i go to the gun shop close to me to buy 7.62X39 and I am limited to 100 rounds but i know why they are doing it. Its so they can make sure all of their customers are satisfied. And i know the reason there is some left for me to buy is because they do that.

I picked up 200 rounds of 38 spcl yesterday in the Hillsboro store, then I checked out what big 5 had across the street, their prices were way inflated compared to Bi Mart.

I ran into the 500 round limit back in November when they were selling 300 round plastic cans of Hornaday .223 for $139 and I could only buy one. (I got another can the next day, but then they were out) I think the limit is for center fire only.

I love Bi-Mart. I've been a life long shopper there.

It's OK to not like a policy, but there is no place to be nasty the clerk here.

It's ironic that the best things in life are people and the worst things in life are people too.

I support a limit as well, situation last time ammo was in short supply, one of the local hock shops sent their help continually across the street to the local BiMart to buy ammo, THEN, restocked their shelf with the Bimart ammo at a higher price, leaving Bimart, and their customers without ammo.

The lady at my local Bi-Mart said a fella came in and asked for 223. When she told him she didn't have any, he spit snuff on her and then walked out. If I had been there at the time, I would have followed him outside and made it personal.
Should of call the cops that's assault most likely could have got arrested for it. Either way the guys a big pile of dog crap he doesn't Deserve to own guns If he has that kind of temper An attitude.

When I read the OP my adrenalin spiked way to high for an old man! The ranter and all spitters need some hospital time! Even bad, bad service is no excuse for that kind of behavior and bad service at Bimart is so rare as to be news!

While I agree. I get a little peeved at bimart for limiting purchases.
I've worked in retail for years and anytime someone wants to give money for goods you should take it.
I've gone into some bimarts and asked how much i could buy and they would sell me everything I wanted (even in the chaos) and others want to limit you to 4 boxes. 4 boxes isn't even one range trips worth!
I don't get mad at people at the counter though. Manager maybe, but I'd rather just take my business elsewhere. That's why online businesses are closing doors everywhere.

I work with a hole customers daily so I don't get mad at any working class folks.

I was in Bi-mart in Keizer a few weeks ago and thy had 5.56 x-tac in on the shelf (full shelf) I asked if they had a limit and was told 500 rounds. I told her I was fine with that so she pulled 500 rounds and put it in a box. When I went to pay the cashier said she was not sure what the limit was so she called the store manager. The store manager the came up and said they had a 4 box limit on all ammo on sale or not and asked why I needed so much ammo. I told him 4 boxes made no sense since box sizes vary from 20-500, and asked him if he shoots. He replied that he did not shoot and said it is 4 boxes, "that's our policy". So I left there with 80 rounds. If ammo wasn't so hard to come by I would have told him to keep it all.

My son worked in retail for several years. Finally had to get out because he couldn't stand dealing with all the rude cretins. Now he is a happy welder and no longer has to tamp down the urge to strangle people who are rude to folks who are just trying to do a thankless job.

Been in the biz for along time and people like that are an everyday occurrence...Personally I support a limit on ammo in these times so everyone has an opportunity for some instead of a couple individuals taken it all and then reselling at inflated prices when there is none...in this industry the cuss ter mer is not always right

I appreciate anyone working in this biz today and the customers who understand that the guy/gal behind the counter is not at fault for what is going on or company policies

Many times I have been tempted to go punch out and proceed to punch out

I would have to say something to some jackass who gets in a clerk's face over anything so stupid. Unless the clerk goes nuts and starts attacking the customer, there is never any call for a customer to get so out of hand. I would question the individuals mental capacity and his fitness to own firearms. He might just wind up getting an *** beating if he decided to spit on me or the clerk, or get physical. People need to stand up against brutish, bullying behavior.

Tangent alert* A friend is the handgun counter manager at a firearms and fishing gear shop near Sacramento - They had a problem with other shops pulling a similar stunt. They used to run an ad every Tuesday with gun/ammo/gear sales - clipped coupon required with 5 box limits. One of the high price competitors was bringing a van full of guys with a stack of coupons and different jackets/hats and would try to clear the shelves. They finally had employees take hour shifts in the parking lot watching for them. The guys would walk in every 5-10 min and buy the limit, leave for a half hour or so and come back wearing different shirts/hats/jackets to do it again. This no longer seems to be a problem though - last I talked to him he said they haven't run a single firearms/ammo ad since obama was elected and they have had to hire another 4 employees to keep up with the guns/ammo sales.

I had a lady one time being mean to a girl behind the counter at a Safeway, there was no reason for it, and the ghetto Whor** just kept calling her names, and the poor girl was a bout in tears when I stepped in and said, "Do I know you from somewhere? I work for with law enforcement, have you ever been arrested for prostitution? Is your street name Crystal"? The crazy bit** just looked at me and and said all you white mother ****** is crazy and walked off. The girl asked me if I was a police officer and I said no, but she was a rude bit** and I was tired of her harassing you. She thanked me and gave me 2 pounds of turkey breast for a miss marked price.

I'm 100% in favor of business's limiting purchase amounts when an item is in high demand and quantities are limited. It makes good business sense in that you end up with a bunch of happy customers instead of one very happy scalper. If a business is going to engage in quantity limits then their policies should be clear and highly visible to customers, most people will be understanding if the store is upfront about it.
