Any ideas on the most solid scope mount set-up for a grooved receiver. Looking for something for my Marlin bolt action 22. Seems as I have seen some advertised but don't recall where.
Hands down the most solid bases. I run either Leupold twist lock (larger caliber) style or Warne split bases on all of my rifles.
Dovetail:
This scope and rings actually started on a Marlin XT-22 TSR (bolt, tube fed), then went on my Ruger American when I sold the Marlin as seen below:
1913 Rail:
Solid design. Although the design changes between the dovetail and 1913 rail, the holding ability to the rail and scope is fantastic.
Made in America as well. I always buy these local at a store.
Do not buy Millett, they are cheap and do not hold the rail as tightly as Warne.
