I had a bb/pellet rifle that gave many a bunny rabbit dinners. and a for a lot less than a 22.

There are .45 and above air rifles that can drop buffaloes. Quackenbush comes to mind.

LOL, not too sure about that part either-seems like double talk to me. But I can tell you that the wife thought the kids NERF rifle was a destructive device after (the boys and I) got into a NERF gun fight and we destroyed a homemade glass Christmas ornament......
