I will get an EGO mower soon. Getting older and my shoulder is messed up. I had problems starting the gas blower and hedge trimmer. I gave them to a neighbor and bought EGO hedge trimmer and blower. They work great, plenty of power. My old Honda gas mower is electric start so I am still using it for now.
I was surprised at the power on the trimmer and blower. Technology has come a long way on these battery tools.
I too was quite shocked at the power they get out of these things now. Going to buy a string trimmer since the mower did so damn good. Beats hell out of using gas.

I love that I can recharge my gas mower, blower, pressure washer, edger, string trimmer, or hedge trimmer in under a minute and the charge will last a long time, I can even recharge it again in under a minute again if needed. Now, that being said, I am not in the City, know how to maintain mechanical devices, and have some land. Battery operated tools are what I take when we go to our year round campsite. Nothing wrong with them, they just aren't for jobs the size I need them for.

As a follow up. Sun has been coming out and things are growing again. When I went to do the first mow got the batteries out of the basement and went to charge them. Only to find both were still at full charge. So that was great. Went today and got the line trimmer and the hedge clipper that goes with the same batteries. Again color me impressed. Both did a stellar job and its so damn nice no noise, gas, or cords to deal with. Will be donating my corded string trimmer and hedge clipper to someone. The string trimmer like the mower has as much power as the gas ones I have used. Thanks again to Ura-Ki for recommending the thing last year. They have been WELL worth the cost.

I get to drink a cold one while listening to music on my zero turn, takes about 45 minutes to get the 1 acre mowed.

Honda in the shade.

Mowed my front lawn TWICE already. About every 5-6 days this time of year.

I run a Toro Commercial ProLine W/6 horse, 2-stroke Kawasaki motor. Purchased 1998 for $850.00. Ran it commercially up until three years ago. Put a new crank/bearings. Rings, seals in it about eight years ago when it got knocking a bit.

Man, I grew up behind one of those things. Ours had an aluminum mow deck and would cut anything asked of it. Our lawn as a kid was rather large and I made the mistake of getting straight lines while mowing and having it look great when finished. Basically, worked myself into the position no one wanted but got the results no one could accomplish either. It looked good when finished and quickly became one of my chores.

You screwed up.

My brother always did a terrible job mowing. So it was my chore.
Then my brother ends up working for a landscaping company in his senior year of high school. He did such a good job, the owner tried to marry him into their family. Sneaky Lil....

2 years ago I "treated myself" to a Honda lawnmower. AKA, I spent too much. My 20 year old made in Canada home depot lawnmower with a B&S motor was running just fine, but I always wanted a Honda and I heard that they were about to stop making gas mowers.

I regret it.... it's constantly revving up and down (supposedly common issue with the metering in the carb) doesn't clear the chute (not much suction, doesn't pick up leaves) and, icing on the cake..... it's been recalled for the pull start, supposedly it can malfunction and injure your hand.

My Makita weed whacker is pretty disappointing too, just not enough oomph for those times I let the grass grow too much.

I do like the electric stuff, if I don't put E0 fuel in the gas powered stuff at the end of the season I get to redo the carbs.

My mower: Zero turn, Toro, 50 " deck, 23 Hp, Kawasaki engine, equipped with mulching Gator Blades.
Those Kawasaki engines set the bar! My Hustler has the 27hp KAW and a 60" fab deck. Was surplussed from a local city, saw the receipt for it when new and about gagged, didn't realize one could spend almost $10k on a lawnmower.
