Bipartisan Bill to Fix Gun Background Check System Introduced in Senate

The Fix NICS Act would implement punishments for federal agencies that fail to comply with criminal reporting requirements, including prohibiting bonuses for political appointees at failing agencies. It would reward states that properly report records with federal grant preferences and incentives. It would also require the attorney general to produce a semi-annual report on whether or not federal agencies are complying with reporting requirements.

How about they make a proposal that a similar requirement be put on the FBI for failing to fix/repair incorrect, broken and outdated records - giving false or outdated refusals to people that are legal to own? Of course, they're probably not interested in that.

How bout we fine the ATF for same? On the surface it sounds good, but if you step back a bit and think about it, it's a back door registry by "updating records" of owners.
