ATF Streamlines Process for Moving Machineguns, SBRs Across State Lines
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is trying to make it at least somewhat easier to legally transport guns governed by the National Firearms Act (NFA).
The gist is that the ATF plans to digitize the forms needed for notifying them for transporting NFA items across state borders, reducing typical times from 20 minutes for snail mail forms plus the usual mailing and waiting, to 10 minutes with a much shorter waiting period for approvals. The public has until Jan 27th to submit feedback
