Not a good look for the local PD.

That guy was an arrogant bubblegum. I wish he would have lost and had to pay the cities attorney's fees. He's so high above the law he can't lower himself to cooperate with local cops or even answer their questions. What a prick! This is going to make arrogant Gov agents even more arrogant.

Different perspective here. If you are entering another jurisdiction, you should ALWAYS notify the agency prior so this exact thing doesn't happen. Do people impersonate cops and federal agents? You bet, especially for home invasions. If you are misguided enough not to do this, expect to get handcuffed, have your credentials checked, and a call by a higher up in the department calling your agency, letting them know about your faux pas. This is police work 101...unless you are fed, apparently.

This country has become is litigious disaster. Open lawfare in every direction. If getting put in cuffs and incovnenienced for a bit is worth 1.6 million then we have some big issues.

Since the local PD has qualified immunity as well, the clear solution is to shoot the arrogant .gov goons to death first, then sort it all out afterwards.
