It's really interesting reading all this intel on the Albany show. I had a table full of some pretty nice pieces and herds of people picking them and playing with them. One fellow got his feelings hurt when I politely asked him to not drop the slide on a Wiley Clap Colt. Others ask some irrelevant questions questions on pieces they have no interest in buying. Others went on and on about what they have or used to have or their fathers had. All to no real end that had any use. One offer all day that was in the toilet. So, there is a small rant from the other side of the counter. Funny, what with all the overpriced firearms in the show, people want to sell me something way above what I would price it for just so they can go buy something from kieth. Yall come back now, yah heah

No banjo this time but a little of both of the other kind. Stuff from $50.00 to $6,500 and still got it all. Beaters and prime beef and no one wanted to do anything. I did have a fellow that wanted me to buy his '94 for what I wanted to get out of mine. That had a lot to offer. O well, tomorrow is another day.

It's funny, I get where you are coming from, but sometimes prices are just dumb. I do wonder if dealers have any idea how to use the internet when they set prices, yes, the small guy will be more expensive than a big online retailer, but not 100% higher. I've also noticed that NO one has a clue how to haggle/negotiate anymore.

I am a little in tune but spot on, I just do the best I can. Bottom line, no one tried to bargain with me except for a low ball offer and if I have to get down to that level, I will have me some nice toys to play with.

Where's your table Banjo, I'm coming through in the AM and I'll stop and flick you crap...
To your left when you walk into the show and a couple of isles, right across from the knife sharpener. I should have a banjo to pick on, just not for sale and I will have my bowler tomorrow. Forgot it today and hear about bowler and banjo the entire day.

....know that I'm talking in generalities, not to your stuff specifically...;)

I love a good haggle, yes, I'm usually the doosh that lowballs the heck outta something to start, but its a start. Sometimes I get blown off, sometimes I get a laugh and work out a deal.

Where I have this , is used AR uppers for more than new retail, mags for twice the online shipped price, the word " RARE ".
:)

Ah the word "RARE" commonly used to describe the piece that was only shot once or twice that no one liked or wanted to begin with. Or the piece that is chambered in a caliber no one has heard of so you have to load your own.:confused:o_O:rolleyes:

IM tempted to go but from what I heard Alot of things were over priced due to some recent events, but not everything, maybe i should of gone and set up a table for holsters after all lol

There were a couple of no-shows so there were a few empty tables.

I hear labeling a price in anticipation of haggling but an in package but dogeared mag for higher than Cowbellas' insane markup is crazy.

@glockguy
Let me know if you go Wes, I'll be there just after 9 I imagine...

I may. Iv got quite a few orders to fulfill So who knows. Customers come first lol. btw I moved to Leb so Im a wee bit closer to you now!

Crappy part is When I checked aboput getting a table a few months back they were all taken:(

For those that mention no one haggles anymore heres my expert opinion on it:D

I don't want to throw a number out there that you may take offense to. I don't want to sit there and haggle back and forth with you. I just don't want to waste the time doing it. Chances are you won't come down enough to make me feel like I got a good deal and if you did you may feel like you kind of got jipped in the deal and I don't want that either. I like it when both parties feel they got a fair deal. But when many of the prices there (That I saw today) where above retail anyways how far down are you really going to come? If your ok with selling something for less why not just put that price on it. The next person to walk up and grab it to look may just buy it instead of putting it down thinking they can just get it cheaper somewhere else. Plus people may spread the word about the great prices at your table and bring more business your way.

Example. I was looking at a grand power x-caliber at a table because I'd never seen one in person but I love grand power pistols and own 1 already. The guy says to me "you look like you know what that is" I told him I did and I was surprised to see one as most people don't even know about them. He tells me he's surprised it's still there. He had it listed for 800 something. I didn't look real hard cause I know I could get that gun shipped to my ffl and take it home for $750 total. For all know he had it listed for $850. I stopped looking whwn i saw the 8. I'm not going to haggle him down over $50-100 his asking price. I feel like if I had something for sale and someone offered me less than $100 my asking price that he's low balling me. Obviously there are exceptions. If what your selling is $1,000+ then it may be more acceptable to offer $100 less...anyways I don't want to low ball someone so I just put it down and walked away. Sorry. That's just my take on it.

I spent a good portion of the day there with a buddy of mine. He found a Noveske quad rail for $30 that someone had painted. He cleaned it up last night in about 30 minutes.

I was seriously contemplating a MP5 A3 stock at one table near the entrance. The owner had it listed as being for a HK 93/33 but my measurements of the rail told me it was for a MP5. Only problem was that I'm 99% sure it was aftermarket and not genuine Heckler & Koch and it was offered at the same price that I could buy it for new online.

The only thing that I spent money on was a NRA membership (which includes entry to the show), some .30 cal. FMJ pull down bullets for $15 per 100, and some really good french fries.
