It all boils down to risk. Walking around my neighborhood with the dog, running errands nearby, just everyday life in my little piece of the world, a 5 shot snubbed with a couple of reloads should be more than enough.

Traveling to more densely populated areas with higher crime rates requires perhaps more self defense capacity. Maybe the P365, if the risks are even higher, something more hard hitting like .45 ACP in the form of a Shield or if I'm dressed up a nice 1911.

One has to evaluate their particular risk, and their risk tolerance, then prepare for that risk. Remember that 2" snubbie is your pocket is much better than the plastic fantastic you left at home.

My two such these days consist of a Smith & Wesson Model 36, .38 Spec. two inch bbl., and a New England Firearms R73, .32 H&R Mag, two and a half inch bbl. I prefer shooting the .32 H&R. Both guns have round butt, the H&R is a bit fatter and fits my hand better. The S&W, I only load 750 fps +/- loads for it in order to control it.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say I disagree with most of the points made in the video in opening post. I've had a few snubbie revolvers over the years and still have one for no other reason than I think it's neat and has that 40's detective association (mine is actually from the 60's however). I may even have carried it a time or two back when I couldn't afford much in the way of other options. However, to me, it really just doesn't make much sense anymore as a carry option in light of so many other choices that I think are much more effective. These days, it's easy to find a semi-auto that's lighter, thinner, 2x (or more) the ammo capacity, and no less shootable.

Can't add much to what's already been said, but I like the snubby for the simplicity and reliability. CQ for sure, but also just so dependable. So plus one on having one in your arsenal and on your body for carry.
