I will be making our annual month long trip to the family farm in Monmouth this June (I reside in Fort Lauderdale).

I would like to take a 1 day pistol course while I'm in the area to challenge myself and see how things are done out West.

Some of the most recent courses I've taken are from Modern Samurai Project, Glock Professional, Rangemaster, Tim Herron, SSGT, Frank Proctor, and Wright Shooting.

The only class I've found online so far (which looks great), is "Critical Skills Handgun" by MFST, held at DK Ranch.

What suggestions do you have regarding this course or other offerings that fit what I'm looking for?

Albany Rifle and Pistol Club has some really good handgun classes from basic through advanced. Here's a link to their training section.

For the advanced classes, they require you to either go first go through the basic class or take their skills assessment. The skills assessment shows that you know how to safely handle and use a firearm and know which end the bullets come out. The assessment is free and only takes about 15 to 30 minutes.

I have taken the Level 1 and Level 2 advance AR and handgun classes at ARPC and can highly recommend all of them. The classes are relatively small and typically have two instructors so there is plenty of one on one time and evaluation.

TriTac in Salem also has classes. Four Corners Gun Club in Salem also offers classes. I haven't been to either one of those so can't offer an opinion on either one of them.

Oregon Indoor Shooting Range in Lebanon has classes and uses the Accushoot LFX system. The electronic screen and moving targets is a good platform for training and skill building using your own firearm and ammunition. I've used it at their facility and also at ARPC on Sundays and have had a great time at both.

Armed Women of America has Albany and Salem chapters and has basic and advanced classes available.

I'm sure there are others and some people here will have recommendations but these are the ones I'm familiar with.
