I just purchased a Magpul carbine length handguard for my first AR---a S&W MP 15.
The owners manual says that removing the handguard requires an extra pair of hands. I have also seen a fork-shaped tool being used to push the ring down.
Lacking both these items, is there another trick or a way to improvise a tool?

I hold the rifle sideways and while pulling back on the delta ring with both hands/fingers, tap the hand guards on the edge of the bench and they pop right out.

I just put a new hand guard on my M&P Sport. It was difficult pulling the delta ring down and removing the first time but it gets easier. IMG_1506.JPG
