I have a S&W Model 34-2 (‘Kit gun’j. S/N begins with ’BDB’. Found a lot about the 34-1 but not a lot on 34-2. Mine has some bluing wear from holster I assume but is in I would say ‘very good shape’. 22LR, Single and double action. I have the original box somewhere but am having trouble finding it since I retired and moved. Any way, any info and ballpark values will be greatly appreciated. I may post a picture or two later.
Thanks ahead! 0D80E3CB-D910-4A4B-B93F-AEF787924F38.jpeg F792F2AF-7A23-4FA9-A4CA-566AFBD98DDF.jpeg 49324A7F-3974-41B1-ABF7-E71C37695D03.jpeg 9285EA6C-7AF8-4D9A-B324-226766EEF17E.jpeg 3EEA9649-9C00-494D-96AF-A9F4A46E777B.jpeg

Serial number would be of help. Leave out last two numbers, if you choose to.
The dash 2 engineering change was 1982.
Best,
Gary

My book says 34-2 was 1988 New yoke retention system / radius stud package. Discontinued 1991. 1982 Eliminated the pinned barrel but still under 34-1 Engineering number.
My error. 1988 is correct date for the engineering change. Was not able to find BDB prefix.
Best,
Gary

Thank you, I’ll give that a go when I get a chance. Maybe I’ve got the ‘one’ anomaly LOL. Thanks again!

Yes, posted on S&W Forum as K-22 suggested and quickly got same info Dust2Dollars posted. Thanks to all!! Now to decide on value, thinking of selling. Found a 34-2 on Guns.com listed as ‘good shape with small amount of rust’ for $799. Mine is rust free with very minimal bluing wear at tip of barrel on one side. Minimally visible cylinder circumference marking. I will be looking for the original box, had it before I moved to Bend, packed away somewhere 🙄
