I bought this Monkey Wards Western Field .22 lever action (no serial number), made until 1971. Bought it for $299.00. When I received it two days ago, I noticed it had two fine, short cracks behind the rear stock running from the metal on one side. The gun is perfect beyond that. I wasn't happy with the cracks which didn't show in the photos on Guns International. Sent some close-ups to the seller via text. He called me immediately and was very apologetic and embarrassed. Turns out he's got a Michigan store and also lives in Florida. One of his business associates sold the gun remotely. He told me after this, he'll never sell a gun he hasn't personally seen again. I asked him for a $100. refund. He said, "That's not enough. I think $200. is better. I'll either cut you a check, take the gun back, pay for shipping and a full refund, or pay to have a new stock replaced...whatever you want. I want to maintain a good standing on Guns International."
I accepted the $200. refund. So, $99. for this very nice .22.
The dealer's name is David Kesar of Northern Wings and Clays.
His number is (305)-731-6505
The next firearm I buy will be through him, for sure. He's the real deal.
