I was at Elite Buyers Pawn in West Salem yesterday and they have a 70 series Colt 1911 for $799. I didn't inspect it for fear of taking it home.

If its like the one I bought, I'd replace the detent for slide stop if you buy it. Mine was too long. Idiot scratch happened after trying to avoid exactly that.

OTOH my ruger sr1911 has no issues with that detent, even with the 460 rowland conversion that makes it slightly more annoying to put back together.

I have one...it was my dad's.
First handgun I shot...a long while ago.
I still think of dad when I shoot or carry it.
