Wanting to load for a Webley in 38/200... but also looking at getting one or two other older top breaks...

From what I have seen its sounds like loading the 38SW with the 200gr bullet for the Webley is one thing, but those loads would not be suitable for an old Smith or Iver Johnson, etc.

What I havent seen is how the lighter loads do in the Webley...

Looking at my choices of bullet, I can get a 190gr and a 96gr

Anyone have experience loading for either type of revolver? Heavy bullets in a commercial top break or light bullets in a Webley?

Just being a cheap bubblegum and dont want to keep two kinds of bullet on hand for something Im probably not going to shoot or load a whole lot of... but if I can work up one load for all of them it might be worth loading more...

I can't answer your specific question, because I only have a S&W Victory, but I can give you another bullet choice. These are what I use.

I had a Webley MK IV once and played with it a bit. I had Lee dies and an NOE mold for it and used Unique powder. Can't remember the load but it was within published loads. I tired of it quickly as I'd plenty of S&W .38/.357 revolvers that did better so I sold the whole lot not breaking even. It works, that's about it. Oh, it's a bad idea to use .38/200 loads in any old S&W or Iver Johnson top break. They were made for anemic loads.
