So i'm helping a friend of mine reload 308's for his m1a, heres the problem:
I trimmed the cases to 2.005, seated the bullet at the cannelure, measured the col(2.720) and its below the min col(2.800).
-150gr fmjbt w/c hornady bullet
-rem once fired cases
-36gr varget
-hornady 7th ed reloading manual
Would it be safe to shoot? Somebody told me it should be safe because we're loading at 36gr. which is a low charge.
What gets me is why is the col short? Defective bullet?
