They are - but you are still less than forthcoming on information.

What is the brand of this 1911 and how many rounds have you fired through it?
A model 70 Colt government issue. About 400 rounds. Someone commented on feed ramp.

It's my beater gun. Maybe my expectations are not correct.

Apologize for lack of info.

Have you had 400 flawless rounds, or has this always been a problem?

It gets dirty

I can't test for a few days. I'm inclined to carry a revolver now. Yes I can go clean it all up but it'll get dirty. I can't rely on it.
Try running wet with the factory magazines and report back.

Number one issue IMO is ammo being used. Winchester especially white box is a dirty dirty cheap garbage that should never be for depending your life on. Try getting some better-quality ammo, using the factory mag, plenty of oil and don't limp wrist it and see how it functions.

First off, that's not a Series 70, from the roll mark shown on the slide, it appears made in the 60s on back. Serial number will date it.

Not enough info to diagnose...if ya got a pic of the position of the round when everything stops...that would help.

...and it appears it's been worked over a bit.
