Do you have any other go-to powders for your lighter loads?

Not currently as a have a pretty good supply of Unique on hand, however I occasionally research other powder possibilities for light loads.

I might load a few up with Tightgroup or Bullseye just as an 'experiment' to see the results.

I've used data from this site for 45-70 reduced loads,using Red dot, and got really good results with caste lead and copper plated. There is some 30-30 data too but I have not had a chance to do any test loads with it.

I'm curious about good heavy bullets to try with a 30-30 for subsonic loads.

In a .30-30 you would probably be better off with lighter bullets for sub loads.

Due to longer barrel length Less chance for squibs, quieter and greater accuracy.

I've loaded some pretty 'slow' 100-125 grain bullets and they are pretty dang quiet and accurate.

Thank you all very much for the insight. I'll report back once I've tried out a few lighter rounds. I'm not expecting to uncover any new secrets but this process has already taught me a lot. I really appreciate it!
